Board of Game

How to Become a Board of Game Member

Each board has seven members appointed the governor, without regard to political affiliation or where they live in the state, to three-year terms. Terms are staggered to provide continuity on the boards. Each member must be confirmed by a joint session of the state legislature. However, newly appointed board members can carry out all the functions of confirmed members until confirmation. If the legislature fails to confirm by vote or adjourns before taking up confirmation newly appointed members can no longer serve and cannot be reappointed until after the legislature reconvenes. Board members may be removed by the governor for "inefficiency, neglect of duty, or misconduct in office."

For more information on becoming a board member, please visit the Governor's Boards and Commissions Information page.
